AHEC - Pipeline Activities
About
Southeast Idaho AHEC Pipeline program aims to grow interest in the healthcare workforce throughout Idaho. It is important to us that we build interest in healthcare to our middle school and high school students as they are the future in health care.
Programs
Our main program, Scrubs Camp, is done in collaboration with Idaho State University’s TRIO program where we host our event with them annually on ISUs campus. While attending this one-day camp, students participate in hands on experiences with various health professionals learning about their profession and what options are available to them.
Southeast Idaho AHEC also delivers a 20 minute presentation that expands on other healthcare career options. This is to highlight that students do not have to become a doctor or nurse to be a healthcare worker. After the presentation, students participate in a hands-on healthcare activity.
We are looking to add more programs in the upcoming future.
If either event sounds like something you would like to participate in, please reach out to our AHEC Pipeline Director, Dawson Keller, so we can help grow awareness for healthcare in Southeast Idaho.
Partners
We are proud supporters and partners with Idaho HOSA.
