HIV Testing, Prevention, and Treatment Referral
Human immunodeficiency virus weakens a person’s immune system by destroying important cells that fight disease and infection. There is no cure for HIV but HIV can be managed with the appropriate medical care.

- One or more of my sex partners is living with HIV
- Has a history or is currently using/injecting illicit drugs
- Engaging in commercial sex work
- Exchanging sex for money or drugs
- Engaging in anonymous sex contacts (ex. Met via Grindr, Craiglist, adult bookstores, etc.)
- Been diagnosed with another STD such as syphilis, Chlamydia, or Gonorrhea
- A man who has sex with other men
Cost
HIV testing is available to all of our clients. Fees for these services can vary if based on income and family size. If you have more questions regarding fees or how to pay for services please contact your local Public Health Office.
We offer consultations and provide prescription medications for Non-occupational Post Exposure (nPEP) Prophylaxis and Pre-exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP)!
nPEP
- nPEP is a way to prevent HIV infection after a possible recent exposure.
- nPEP involves taking antiretroviral (ARV) medications or antiretroviral therapy (ART) within 72 hours after a single high-risk event to help prevent HIV from making copies of itself and spreading throughout the body.
- If you believe you have been recently exposed to HIV, please call your local public health office.
PrEP
PrEP is when people at risk for HIV take daily medicine to lower their chances of getting HIV. Taking PrEP daily is highly effective and reduces the risk of getting HIV from sex by about 99% and 74% for those injecting drugs when taken consistently.
PrEP is available to those who:
- Have had anal or vaginal sex in the past 6 months and:
- Have a sexual partner with HIV OR
- Have not consistently used a condom OR
- Have been diagnosed with STD in the past 6 months
PrEP is also recommended for people who inject drugs AND
- Have an injection partner with HIV OR
- Share needles, syringes, or other equipment to inject drugs
