As of September 9, 2026, 22 illnesses had been reported in Idaho, Montana, Utah, and Washington. Two people were hospitalized, and no deaths were reported. Illnesses began between July 7 and August 26, 2026.
Recalled Product
The recall includes broccoli sprouts grown by Evergreen Fresh Sprouts, LLC and packaged in plastic bags or plastic clamshell containers with expiration dates of 9/7, 9/9, 9/11, 9/14, or 9/16.
The recalled sprouts were sold to grocery stores, restaurants, and foodservice customers in Idaho, Montana, and Washington. The FDA says distribution may extend beyond those states.
What Consumers, Restaurants, and Retailers Should Do
- Do not eat, serve, or sell the recalled broccoli sprouts.
- Clean and sanitize surfaces and containers that may have touched the recalled product.
- Contact a health care provider if symptoms develop after eating the recalled sprouts.
Symptoms of Salmonella Infection
Symptoms commonly include diarrhea, fever, and abdominal cramps and usually begin 12 to 72 hours after exposure. Children younger than five, older adults, and people with weakened immune systems are more likely to develop severe illness.
