Vitality Works Inc. of Albuquerque, New Mexico, is recalling one lot (lot number 2025-26227) of 365 Whole Foods Market Standardized + Full Spectrum Blend Ashwagandha Capsules 120 count because it has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella, an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.
Healthy persons infected with Salmonella may experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organisms entering the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections, endocarditis, and arthritis.

The recalled product was available for purchase from November 24, 2025, through October 20, 2026, both online through Amazon.com and at Whole Foods Market stores in the following states and the District of Columbia: AR, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DC, FL, GA, HI, IA, IL, KS, MA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, NC, NJ, NY, OH, OK, OR, PA, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, and WY.
No illnesses have been reported to date. The potential contamination was identified through routine sampling of a single retail unit.
What Consumers Should Do
Customers who have the recalled product should not consume it. Discard the recalled product and do not return it to the store. Refunds are available at any Whole Foods Market store.
